Acceptable Use Policy
This Acceptable Use Policy forms part of our Terms of Service and every merchant agreement with Purpose Technologies (SMC-Private) Limited ("Settlix"). It sets out businesses and activities that cannot use Settlix or Qrix, and those that need our prior written approval. We may update this list as laws, regulatory guidance and risks change.
Prohibited businesses and activities
You must not use the Services for, or in connection with:
- Anything illegal under the laws of Pakistan, or that facilitates illegal activity.
- Gambling, betting, lotteries, games of chance or prize schemes that are not permitted under applicable law.
- Narcotics, controlled substances and drug paraphernalia, and prescription medicines sold without the required licences.
- Weapons, ammunition, explosives and related parts, except by licensed dealers with our prior approval.
- Child sexual abuse material, sexual services, and pornographic or obscene content.
- Counterfeit, stolen or pirated goods, and goods or content that infringe intellectual property rights.
- Pyramid, Ponzi and multi-level marketing schemes, "get rich quick" schemes, and guaranteed-return investment offers.
- Unlicensed banking, lending, deposit taking, money transfer, hawala or hundi, foreign exchange, or other financial services that require a licence you do not hold.
- Virtual currencies or virtual assets, except where permitted under applicable law and approved by us in writing.
- Fake or forged documents, identity services, or the sale of personal data.
- Websites, apps or services blocked or banned by Pakistani authorities.
- Persons, entities or countries subject to applicable sanctions, and proceeds of crime or terrorist financing.
- Hate speech, violent extremism, or content promoting violence.
Restricted businesses (prior written approval required)
- Online gaming, in-game credits, gift cards, vouchers and top-ups
- Wallet loading, bill payment and other fintech or digital financial services
- Pharmacies, healthcare providers and nutraceuticals
- Travel agencies, ticketing and event organisers
- Educational institutions and test preparation
- Charities, NGOs and donation collection
- Marketplaces and platforms that collect payments on behalf of other sellers
- Subscriptions, memberships and pre-orders
- High-value goods such as electronics, jewellery and vehicles
Approval may require additional documents, licences, transaction limits or reserves.
How you must use the Services
- Only accept payments for your own approved business. Do not process payments for other businesses or individuals unless we have approved you as a marketplace or aggregator.
- Describe what the customer is paying for accurately, and show your business name clearly.
- Do not charge customers a fee or surcharge for paying through Qrix.
- Do not split a single sale into several payments to avoid limits or controls.
- Do not create payments for cash advances, refunds of cash, or transfers that are not for genuine goods or services.
- Provide refunds and handle customer complaints fairly, in line with your published policies and the law.
- Keep your API keys and webhook secrets secure, and do not attempt to circumvent our security, limits or screening.
What happens if this policy is breached
We may decline or reverse transactions, hold settlement, apply limits or reserves, suspend or terminate your access, and report activity to the relevant authorities where required. You are responsible for any fines, penalties, losses or costs that result.
